The Rotary Club of Perth partnered with the Rotary Club of Mt Lawley for the first Convicts for a Cause in 2010 to raise money for some great causes. We exceeded our goal but the real bonus was the fun all of our participating members had on the night.

The venue was a perfect setting and the involvement of Ellandar Productions gave the whole evening a surreal atmosphere which had its climax with the Vice Regal arrival and patronising pardon to all those "wretches" who had managed to raise the bail money.

Ellandar thoroughly enjoys its involvement with Convicts for a Cause as it is a great opportunity for our production house to engage with the community and provide help and support through our art. It is a privilege to perform in the Fremantle Prison because, as a venue, it can be a character in and of itself.

A refreshing way in which to get involved with raising money. Have lots of fun fund raising and have the experience of being locked up. This is a true test of who your friends really are. They can pay to get you out or some may pay more to keep you locked up.

Convicts for a Cause is a great opportunity to support a growing charity which is making a real difference to the lives of children and young adults living with Cystic Fibrosis. In the 1960s the average life expectancy at birth was just 5 years of age. Now thanks in part to the support we provide, this has increased to 37 years of age.
